Philips at ECR

As the Senior Art Director for ECR, an international radiology event, I played a crucial role in shaping the creative direction, overall aesthetic, and experiential aspects of the Philips booth, ensuring seamless navigation and infusing the space with a strong brand identity and graphics. The goal was to showcase Philips' cutting-edge radiology innovations and solutions in a compelling and visually striking manner.

Working with MET Studio, stakeholders, and business groups, we plotted the entire area using zonal spots, which came to life in 3D. The whole space was a triangular corridor shape with split sections that allowed traffic to leave and enter different stages of the floor. My challenge was creating a connecting element to maintain and encourage traffic flow to continue their journey in a branded environment. For this, I came up with the idea of extending the carpet shapes out into the corridors, which became the navigation tool between the two enclosed sections of the space and gave a nice continuous feel to the experiences.

Throughout the area were pillars of the building, which I used as navigational points. Small mini-moments were created to aid storytelling, and messaging supported the brand's expression. As we had a challenging space, I wanted the graphics, colour direction and messaging to stand out and dominate the space without distracting from the product display areas.
